- Does anyone know why the Toaster's black level would be so far
- off that it looks grey? On the waveform monitor it registers
- about 20 IRE instead of normal black which should be 7.5.
- This happens whenever we select DV3 (with Black selected on
- the Setup screen). Also, whenever we render an Anim, what is
- supposed to be black comes out this same level of gray.
-
- Curiously, blacks created in the CG do come out perfectly
- black. In fact, we have resorted to using a black CG page in
- order to get black out of the Toaster. Individual framestores
- rendered from Lightwave also don't have this problem -- the
- blacks are black. But if you try to save an Anim, the blacks
- turn gray.
-
- We don't know of any adjustment anywhere on the Toaster or the
- Amiga 4000 to correct for this. This problem has continued
- even after we re-installed the Toaster software and the
- version 3.1 upgrade.
-
- What's going on?
